Egeria densa, commonly known as Anacharis, is a hardy and fast-growing aquatic plant widely appreciated for its lush green stems and natural ability to improve water quality in freshwater aquariums. Native to South America, this versatile plant is a favorite among aquarists for its resilience, simplicity of care, and usefulness in both decorative aquascapes and breeding tanks.

Its long, leafy stems grow in dense clusters, creating a vibrant green backdrop that adds depth and movement to an aquarium. Anacharis can be planted in the substrate or left floating, allowing aquarists to easily adjust placement depending on the desired aquascape design.

In addition to its attractive appearance, Anacharis is well known for its ability to absorb excess nutrients and release oxygen into the water, helping maintain stable aquarium conditions and reduce algae growth. Its thick stems and abundant leaves also provide excellent hiding spaces for shrimp, fry, and small fish.

Durable, adaptable, and extremely easy to grow, Anacharis is an excellent plant for beginners, breeding tanks, and established planted aquariums alike.
